Closet Clear-Out

Kim Snodgrass, Professional Organizer, takes time to declutter and reorganize her own closet

Turning 50 in 2023 was epic! I loved every minute of that day. I reflected on so many life lessons. I also realized menopause was here to stay.

I recently came across an Instagram account, Alison Lumbatis. She struck a cord with me on her cash, trash, and stash philosophy. Make 3 piles, cash - anything that can be sold or donated, trash- roughly worn clothes that can be turned into rags or garbage, and stash- items that you still like but no longer serve a purpose for your personal style and body type or are simply on the fence with.

Today I am doing this in my own closet. Menopause has shifted things around on my body and it’s time to embrace that and find my new 50 style! I think the majority of my items will be stashed, simply because as a professional organizer, I am consistently editing my closet when I don’t like something. But I have many things I still like but am not quite as comfortable in.

If you haven’t taken time to review and edit your closet recently maybe this approach will give you a bit more clarity!

Cheers,

Kim
